Using capital letters and punctuation (L.1.2b)
What This Section Is About:
In this section, you will learn how to use capital letters and punctuation correctly when writing sentences. These rules help make writing clear and easy to read.
Capital Letters
We use capital letters for:

Names of people, places, and special things (e.g., Lily, New York, Monday)
The word “I” (e.g., I love to play.)
Punctuation Marks
Punctuation marks go at the end of a sentence:
Period (.) – Use for a telling sentence. (I have a cat.)
Question Mark (?) – Use for a question. (What is your name?)
Exclamation Mark (!) – Use for excitement or surprise. (Wow! That was fun!)

❌ my name is emma (Incorrect – Missing capital letters and period.)
