What The Section Is About
Subtraction means taking away objects from a group to see how many are left. A subtraction sentence uses numbers and the minus (–) and equals (=) signs to show what happens when we remove some.

For example:
🍎🍎🍎 take away 🍎 = 2 apples left.
We write this as 3 – 1 = 2.

Learning Outcomes
