Recognizing and naming uppercase and lowercase letters (RF.1.1)
Uppercase Letters (Capital Letters): These are the big letters in the alphabet. They are used at the beginning of sentences, for names, and for proper nouns.
• Examples: A, B, C, D, E
Lowercase Letters (small letters): These are the smaller forms of letters. They are used in most of the words we write.
• Examples: a, b, c, d, e
Examples of uppercase and lowercase letters in a sentence:
• Uppercase: The dog ran fast.
• Lowercase: the dog ran fast.
