Kindergarten Social Studies Course

Course Overview

Kindergarten Social Studies introduces students to themselves, their families, schools, communities, country, and world. Students develop foundational knowledge of civics, geography, economics, history, culture, and community life through age-appropriate learning activities and practice.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

1. Identify their families, schools, and communities and explain how people work together.
2. Explain the importance of rules, responsibilities, cooperation, and respect.
3. Identify basic geographic features, maps, locations, and types of communities.
4. Recognize basic economic concepts, including needs, wants, jobs, goods, and services.
5. Describe basic concepts of history, citizenship, traditions, and cultures.
