Past, Present, and Future I Grade 1 SS

What It Is About

Past, present, and future help us understand time.

  • Past is what already happened.

  • Present is what is happening now.

  • Future is what will happen later.
Students learn to talk about events in order and understand how life changes over time.

🎯 Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to:

  1. Identify the past, present, and future.

  2. Describe events that happened before, are happening now, and will happen later.

  3. Put simple events in order (first, next, last).

  4. Recognize changes over time using pictures or personal experiences.

⭐ Examples

  • Past: “I was a baby.”

  • Present: “I am in kindergarten.”

  • Future: “I will learn to ride a bike.”

  • Looking at pictures from when they were younger.

  • Talking about daily routines (yesterday, today, tomorrow).

🏠 Offline Homework Activity

“My Timeline Strip”
Have the child draw three simple pictures showing:

  1. Past (something from when they were younger)

  2. Present (something they do now)

  3. Future (something they want to do later)

Students can bring the timeline to class and share it with the class.
