What Are Antonyms and Synonyms?
• Antonyms are words that mean the opposite of each other.
o Example: Hot 🔥 ↔ Cold ❄
o Example: Happy 😊 ↔ Sad 😢
• Synonyms are words that mean the same or almost the same.
o Example: Big = Large
o Example: Fast = Quick
Knowing antonyms helps us describe things better, and knowing synonyms helps us avoid repeating the same words in our writing!
