Asking and answering questions about key details in a text (RI.1.1)
What is this section about?
In this section, you will learn how to ask and answer questions to understand a story or nonfiction text better.
When we read, we can ask questions like:
Who is the story about?
What happened in the story?
Where did the story take place?
When did it happen?
Why did it happen?
How did it happen?
Example: If we read a story about a lost puppy, we might ask:
Who lost the puppy?
Where was the puppy found?
What did the family do to find the puppy?
Asking and answering questions helps us remember important details and become better readers!
